Project Update 06/02/2026 - Stradbroke Road in Fressingfield
We are investing £1.4m into improving the water main along Stradbroke Road in Fressingfield. This essential work is being carried out because customers have experienced a significant number of bursts over many years, leading to frequent disruption. We understand that the current road closure is inconvenient, we appreciate the patience and understanding of everyone affected while we work to deliver long-term benefits.
Why we are doing this work
By renewing the entire stretch, rather than carrying out small repairs, we will:
- Eliminate weak points that repeatedly cause leaks and bursts
- Reduce disruption for local customers and road users
- Protect network resilience, especially where bursts could affect wider areas and storage
- Minimise the need for emergency traffic management, particularly during evenings and weekends
- Connect with previously upgraded pipework in The Street, Weybread, and from Ebden’s Corner to Rattlerow Hill, ensuring a reliable, modernised water route
What this means for customers
Once current project is complete, customers can expect:
Fewer interruptions to water supply
- More stable water pressure
- A significantly reduced risk of emergency repair work
- Less disruption to traffic and local journeys
Our team is dedicated to ensuring the best outcomes for everyone in Fressingfield. We are committed to minimising disruption wherever possible and supporting the community throughout this process. We recognise the impact that road closures and ongoing work may have on daily life and thank you for your ongoing patience and cooperation.
We will continue to keep you updated on our progress through the community hub and will provide further information as we move forward.
Thank you,
The Project Team
