This week the complex installation of syphon has now been completed. On the eastern section, along Southend Arterial Road, testing and commissioning activities are now underway. On the western section, pressure testing is underway and following this testing and commissioning will start.
The existing excavations on both Southend Arterial Road and Eastern Avenue will remain open while these final stages are completed. This is necessary to allow access for the final pipe connections and any adjustments identified during testing and commissioning before the new pipeline can be brought fully into service.
We remain on track to hand the site back to TfL at the end of August. TfL will then carry out the final reinstatement and resurfacing works required before the road network can fully reopen.
We continue to work closely with TfL closely together and remain focused on completing the remaining works as quickly and safely as possible, while protecting essential water supplies and restoring full access to the road network.
