Project Update 12/06/2026

From "Gallows Corner"

Go to the project

Hi everyone,

We appreciate it has been a little while since we last shared an update with you and we are now in a position to provide you with some additional information on the current status of the programme.

We have now completed the testing required to identify the additional areas of work needed on the newly installed water main. This has been a challenging and technically complex process, during which damage to the water main has been identified after the initial installation phase.

Work is now already underway to progress the necessary repairs, including sourcing additional materials and mobilising specialist resources. These activities will continue within the existing section of the road where access has already been established to reach the pipes beneath the carriageway. As much of the work will continue to take place underground, specialist teams may not always be visible at street level.

Throughout the programme, we have remained focused on carrying out the work safely and efficiently. This approach has been essential in protecting vital water supplies.

We will continue to work closely with Transport for London (TfL) and remain focused on completing the remaining works and restoring full access to the road network as quickly as possible.

Thank you,

The Project Team

So now there's reports that you've pushed back completion to October but not a word about that on here, what's the point of having an official updates page if you don't bother updating us

I’m sorry Essex and Suffolk water your services and updated information for all this completely shocking and in my opinion below par works is unacceptable. There have been many untruths told from said company and tfl. I live at Shenstone Gardens literally right on gallows corner I’ve seen this atrocity everyday for nearly a yr and repeated lies being told, you are still digging up and replacing parts of the road to replace the pipe that was blown from being tested at triple the pressure it should have been. My water pressure and all neighbours pressure has been shocking for nearly a yr and you still try to deny it’s to do with your works just a coincidence it all started when your works started how funny! I have now come to the conclusion that I should speak to a solicitor to find out if there’s anything to be gained as company’s like yours and TfL should be punished, I can accept delays happen and some things can be uncertain but your lies are laughable to say the least! I must ask have you seen the drone videos there’s 100s really is a mockery. Profit over services all there for everyone to see!

@Joe Abbott Thank you for taking the time to post Mr Abbott- we are really sorry to hear how frustrating this has been for you, and the impact the work at Gallow’s Corner have had. We’d like to take this offline and pick this up with you directly as we understand you’ve been in touch about some of the points raised here, so we’ll make sure this is followed up and you’re contacted directly.
