We are pleased to confirm that the section of work installing the new water main along the road is now complete and the traffic lights have been removed.
We are now just preparing for the final connections of the new pipe in the Jubilee Fields car park and then will need to do the same back down at the junction with Bradwell Road (there won't be any work in the road itself). We will then switch the water supply entirely over to the new pipe and the old pipe will be taken out of use.
We would really like to thank the entire village community for their amazing patience, understanding and cooperation whilst we have been carrying out this work. By doing this, you have helped us effectively replace 1.2km of old poor condition water main with a new polyethylene one that will reliably supply the village of St Lawrence Bay for many years and generations to come.
Our team will now move on to replace another old and in poor condition water main along St Lawrence Hill and Bradwell Road between Blackhouse Farm and St Lawrence Church
