Aveley Water Pipe Replacement

The Aveley water pipe replacement project is a major investment to strengthen the resilience and performance of your local water network. Around 5km of ageing water pipes will be replaced with modern plastic pipes with new valves to improve water quality, reduce leakage and lower the risk of bursts.

By renewing the water pipes, we will be able to improve the reliability of your water supply and provide a long-term solution to the bursts mains and leaks you have been experiencing.

Our teams have now completed the section of work on Romford Road and will be moving on to the next street in the programme - Nethan Drive.Residents living on Nethan Drive will have received a letter from us with more detail about what to expect while we’re working outside your home. Access to your property will always be maintained, and traffic management will be in place where needed to keep everyone safe.As the project progresses, you’ll receive a letter from us around two weeks before we begin work on your street, with specific information about timings and what to expect.Thanks The Project Team

The first road affected by these works is Romford Road. Traffic lights will be in place and access to your home will always be available.We're working in your area with our partners Lowmans to replace 8km of water pipes, as part of our investment to continue to provide you a reliable water supply. This work includes the replacement of pipes that connect our network to your home. This £1.4m project aims to reduce the number of unplanned interruptions you and other customers may have experienced due to leaks, and other issues with the older pipework. As the project progresses, you'll get a letter from us two weeks prior to us working on your street with more detail about what to expect. Please be aware that access to homes within this road will always be available. Community Hub Admin Team 3 months ago Hi everyoneWe already have an update on our programme due to start at Aveley.Teviot Avenue has been removed from the programme, as the work can only be completed during the longer summer school holidays. It'll now be delivered during the six-week summer break in 2027, as we already have plans in place this year to complete works on Nethan and Tamar. I am Daren Still, Essex & Suffolk Water’s Project Manager and I will be looking after this scheme through to its completion. The scheme will be delivered by Essex & Suffolk Water’s delivery partner, Lowmans.Starting June 2026, we will be carrying out construction works in Aveley to improve the water reliability and reducing the likelihood of future burst mains and any interruption to supplies.As the project develops, I will keep you informed about our plans and progress by sharing our proposals with you on this portal.
