Barsham Water Treatment Works Upgrade

Project Overview

We are investing £52.1 million in upgrades to our Water Treatment Works (WTW) in Barsham. The work involved will improve the strength of the water supply to around 75,000 customers and help protect the River Waveney.

As part of the project, a new underground reservoir next to the existing WTW can hold 20 million litres of treated water ready to supply communities in the area. This includes Beccles, Bungay, Lowestoft, Shadingfield& Ilketshall.

A new Treatment Works Process will replace the existing process to improve efficiency.
